The pafts have a rich floral decoration, and in the center of each of the halves is depicted a bird with its head turned back, which symbolizes St. Spirit - a typically Christian symbol. In the center, on t. Sun. the pafte depicts a stylized sun. They are worn only by married women, after receiving them as an engagement or wedding gift. It was considered, that the pafts protect the woman's childbearing organs.
